Asia Fajardo-Wright is a saxophonist and composer and leads the band Asia Jazz Project. She is also a member of the latin reggae band Mono Verde. Asia Fajardo holds a Bachelor's of Science in Music Performance and Music Management from the University of Colorado-Denver. During high school, Asia studied jazz piano with jazz master Ted Alexander, who introduced her to the intricate world of theory, composition, and arranging. While in college, Asia studied with Ron Miles, Mark Harris, Drew Morrell, Fred Hess, and Paul Musso. Asia has performed with world renowned Flamenco guitarist Miguel Espinoza, who is one of her greatest influences. As a composer and musician, Asia is is deeply rooted in her indigenous heritage. It is through her connection to nature that she is inspired to write. Her compositions are a dedication to her people and to Mother Earth. Asia Fajardo-Wright has performed at the Chile Harvest Festival, Lakewood Cultural Festival, Wheat ridge Festival, Lakewood Cultural Center, Chac Art Gallery, Mercury Cafe, Dazzle, Alto Restaurant, West Side Books, Common Grounds, Five Points Jazz Festival, Metro State Jazz Festival, and Bistro Magia, Hermans Hideaway, and D Note.
