Astrakan

Michael Garcia started the Astrakan Collective in 2004 to play original material that combined improvised and structured elements in new and exciting ways. The group have played at various London venues, including the Vortex, Pangea, Moose Factory and Club Integral. Comprising sax, guitar, drums, bass and keyboards, the band have recently released their first CD on their own Jaguar Steps label. This is available through Recommended Records and Cuneiform (Wayside). The band's individual members have a broad range of influences from experimental rock and prog-jazz to contemporary classical all of which blend to create their unique and exciting sound.
