Since arriving on the Danish Jazz scene in 1981 this elegant and explosive musician has been searching relentlessly into the realms of experimental and contemporary music. A truly original and virtuoso voice, performing in bands such as his own 11-piece roots/blues/jazz oriented Fredrik Lundin Overdrive, his quintet Offpiste Gurus, featuring singer Trine-Lise Væring, the quintet Silhouette which he co-leads with altoist Christina von Bülow, the improv-trio Sound of Choice with Hasse Poulsen, the ECM-recording and border-crossing Jon Balke Magnetic North Orchestra, Marilyn Mazur Group, and the so called beatles-jazz group Radiostar. Also he is a distinguished composer for contemporary ensembles, theater and jazz groups. He has received several awards and prizes, among them two Danish Music Awards for best jazz album of the year. He has released 8 albums as a leader, and plays as sidemand on about 50 other albums.
