Credentials/Background:
I believe in teaching to the individual rather than a to set formula. We all learn differently, and we all have different relationships with music. My goal, especially with beginning students, is to help them discover and explore their own relationships and meaning in music.
I am very flexible in both hours and rates. Teachers support the community and the community supports teacher - I would ask for $50 per hour for a lesson in my home and studio, but am comfortable accepting more or less than that based on the circumstances. We are all students of the music. I learn almost as much from working with my students as they do from me.
I received a BM in Jazz Performance and a BA in Political Science from Oberlin College and Conservatory in Ohio, both in 2005. I has been on the faculty of the Stanford Jazz Workshop since 2004. I has been teaching professionally since 2000.
