Josh Paris

First being a member of the Chicago jazz scene, Josh Paris is now an integral member of the New York creative music scene. Originally from Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, Josh currently resides in New York City. Coming from a musical family, he started playing music as early as he could walk. Once he finally decided that the double bass was his vehicle of choice he started to study the instrument. He has studied with such musicians as Henry Boehm, John Floeter, Joey Sellers, Chris Rosenberg and Jay Anderson.

Current projects that he is working with are: Landon Knoblock Trio/Quartet, The American Jazz Repertory Orchestra, The Awakening Orchestra, The Vito Chiavuzzo Group, Kenji Shinagawa and C Phineas. You can find him playing regularly at venues like Fat Cat, 55 Bar, the Tea Lounge, Spike Hill and many other places in and around the city.
