Denmark and Sweden United in Romantic Jazz Debut
With his romantically sizzling debut album “SE”, the promising 25-year-old jazz pianist Rasmus H. Thomsen does his part to unite the two Nordic peoples of Sweden and Denmark in a common sound language that reaches beyond the boundaries of both jazz and national borders.
A stepping stone for the album has been Rasmus H. Thomsen’s stay in the cultural and musical environment in the city of -rebro in Sweden. Together with Swedish songwriters and musicians, here he created a new universe of lyrical, harmonious, Nordic jazz focusing on the melodious.
In Sweden, he also met Marie whom he married and fortunately convinced to take the trip back with him to the hectic musical scene of Copenhagen. Rasmus H. Thomsen has performed at the Copenhagen Jazz Festivcal several times and in selected clubs in Scandinavia and France. He has also been a contributory factor on a number of CD releases, amongst other things as a producer. With his debut album “SE”, Rasmus H. Thomsen steps into character with an album that truly symbolises Nordic union, both mentally and musically.
