International singer-songwriter ready with new album.

The past years, Benjamin Aggerbæks music has brought him around the world, and set the foundation for his three weekly openmic scenes in Copenhagen. Now Aggerbæk is ready with a new album, an album very much about a musician on the road.

Since 2006, Benjamin Aggerbæk has visited New York no less than 7 times to perform. In 2008 he was on a longer tour, also bringing him to Austin, Odessa and Chicago, and latest, in 2009, 11 shows in New York with his Aggerbæk Kvintet. Add to this three weekly openmic stages in Copenhagen, hosted by Benjamin, and you get the picture of a man on the road.

Even so, the summer of 2009 brought enought time to record a new album: «My Oh My» contains songs from the road, songs to and about women, about the tough love and about returning home. Because even though Benjamin has travelled the world with his music, Copenhagen of all cities, means the most to him: «No other city can give me as much inspiration. I only travel to come back to Copenhagen with new inspiration which I can inject into the pulse of the city.»

Benjamins sources of inspiration are as versatile as Louis Armstrong, Tom Waits, Led Zeppelin, Bach, Händel a.o. «I try to underline my inspirations clearly on this album. Not to copy or put myself next to them, but to give my version on how the inspiration can develop through me and my musicality. My philosophy is to «steal from the best and make it your own»!». And even though the album has clear inspirations from idols, it is most of all original; what Benjamin calls «Copenhagen Beat».

In 2008 Benjamin recieved the North Sealand based jazzfestival «New Note Festival»s honorary award for his work for the original music on the weekly open-mic stages in and around Copenhagen.
