The Groovemasters

The Groovemasters are four powerhouse musicians who have combined their diverse talents into an instrumental sensation that has generated immediate buzz. Deeply steeped in the jazz tradition, their music combines jazz, funk, R&B, Latin and more, and their wide-reaching appeal is grounded in one thing: Groove. It's the heartbeat - the soul - of every song, driving the enticing melodies and heavy improvisation that has everyone from jazz festival music lovers to club patrons wanting more.

Dean Mongerio on tenor sax and pedals, drummer Curtis Nutall, bassist/vocalist Robert Wawoe and pianist/keyboardist Tony “TC” Castillo came together in 2007 to become the vital force for large jazz acts at festivals. Working closely with radio stations WGRV “The Groove” on Florida's east coast, and WLOQ 103.1 in Orlando, they've performed with headline acts such as: Chieli Minucci, Ryan Shaw, Craig Chaquico, Ed Calle, Jeff Kashiwa, and Mark Antoine, and have opened for acts such as Waymon Tisdale, Nestor Torres, Joyce Cooling, Gerald Albright, Bob James, Chuck Loeb, Dave Valentin, and Dave Samuels & The Caribbean Jazz Project....
