Paul Kirby (born 1981) is currently living in New York City (USA) where he is studying for his masters in jazz performance at Rutgers with distinguished pianist Stanley Cowell. He has also studied privately with Jason Moran, George Colligan and Kenny Werner, and performed at venues such as “The Blue Note”, “Iridium”, “Garage” and “Smalls” in NYC.

Paul is originally from Edinburgh (UK) where he was an integral part of the scene, playing with top local and international players including Herb Geller, Valery Ponomarev, Billy Hart, Peter King, Sunny Kim, Tim Armacost, Colin Steele, Ferdinand Povel, Bruce Adams and Johannes Enders. He has released two trio records as a leader with German bassist Martin Zenker and Chicago drummer Adam Sorenson. With this trio and other groups, he has played UK jazz festivals including Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen and frequently toured across Europe to places such as Estonia, Germany, Belgium, Ireland and Turkey.

Aside from jazz piano, Paul also plays Hammond B3 organ, Fender Rhodes and has performed classical music with various small ensembles including “Camerata Ritmata”.
