A short biography of CHRISTINA BLALOCK

A graduate of Rutgers University, NJ, Christina has a solid command of many piano playing styles and interpretations, from Chopin to Brubeck.

Her musical development started very early, and after years of training in the classical piano tradition, she became an Army Band Pianist. She attended the Mannes College of Music. At Rutgers’ Mason Gross School, Christina studied under renowned jazz pianist Kenny Barron. The Kenny Barron Trio selected some of her compositions, released them on CD, and performed them live in NYC and around the world.

Christina is both a solo performer and the pianist of the newly-formed Straight Ahead Jazz Quartet. She performs around the NJ/NYC club and restaurant circuits.

Christina also has a degree in Mathematics. For over 15 years, she worked at Fortune 100 companies developing Information Technology systems and maintaining data architecture.
