TERRY VOSBEIN was born into a musical family in the musical city of New Orleans. He spent his first decades immersed in the world of jazz composition and performance, playing and writing and learning. Somewhere along the way he got a few degrees, wrote some symphonies and began teaching music composition at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. In recent years he has turned back fully to his jazz roots. His suite for jazz nonet Come And Get It has been getting performances in the US and Canada. In 2008 he spent seven months in Europe creating a library for a twenty- piece big band.

“Progressive Jazz in the best sense of the word: advanced,
forward-moving and
enlightening but in no way pretentious or self-absorbed,”
according to reviewer
Jack Bowers at All About Jazz. The Knoxville Jazz Orchestra is
“remarkably
accomplished, and takes to these demanding charts like ducks
to water.”
A masterful and emotionally rewarding tribute, says Owen
Cordle at
Newsobserver.com.
