Primary Instrument: Vocal

Describe by Sir Terry Wogan/BBC as “A sophisticated talent. . . [the] rarest of bonafide crooners,” the award-winning voice of New York City's Doug Acosta and his band have been swaying audiences across the globe.

Drawn to the Great American Songbook and artists of its time, Doug simultaneously imparts exuberance and refrain to his delivery, always shining new light on familiar standards. He joins his swing orchestra and jazz trio with equal style and verve, presenting bookers with an ideal choice for innumerable entertainment scenarios.

The breadth of Doug's interests is set in the fact that he grew up akin to the venues of Manhattan. His father, a Julliard student and former Broadway performer, began teaching him piano at age 4. While his mother later enrolled him into vocal training at the prestigious Children's Theatre Company with resulting classical voice awards (1st Place Prizes: KingCo and WA State {WMEA} Solo & Ensemble Contests).

Doug Acosta's band has extensive experience hosting some of the world's most famous ballrooms for a list of recognized clients and audience members that includes Dubai Atlantis, LVMH Group, Cunard Line, Starbucks, CNN, HRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess Of Cornwall.

”A sophisticated talent. . .[the] rarest of bonafide crooners.” BBC/Sir Terry Wogan/Nov 2008

“Acosta's sound is reminiscent of Sinatra and other old-style crooners, and he has a very easy-going manner on wstage. The band was also terrific. . . great arrangements and a very polished sound.” Broadwayworld.com/July 5, 2009

“By mid-show, a surprising number of folk in the audience were literally swaying along as he sang. It was sometimes hard to remember that we were witnessing Acosta's New York debut. This new face on the scene has promise!” Peter Leavy, Publisher/Cabaret Scenes
