Terry Medeiros is a professional guitarist that is able to “fuse artistic expression and virtuoso musicianship with every note played,” Orange County Register. Terry’s musical style is a grooving combination of West Coast Jazz and Jazzy Blues instrumental music. Terry is currently pursuing live jazz and blues performance engagements and promoting the release of his current CD “Forever More.” His song list is comprised of original compositions and an expanding catalog of the great American songbook including straight-ahead swing, ballad, society, waltz, bossa nova, jazz, soul jazz and jazz blues songs. Terry’s musical career started in Honolulu in the early 1960’s. His first band, the Sunday Collection placed 2nd in the Honolulu “Battle of The Bands contest held annually at the Waikiki Shell. A 45 release followed and received favorable airplay. Other hi-lights from that time were performing at the first Diamond Head Crater Festival and doing concert openers for the Doors, John Mayall, Steve Miller and John Hammond. Terry moved to San Francisco in 1971. Over the course of 14 years Terry performed at Bill Graham’s Fillmore. For ten years he was the house guitarist for the Bam Awards and musically directed shows for early rock and pop acts including Chuck Berry and Ronnie Spector. He also worked steadily as a studio guitarist on many sessions including Lee Oskar’s “Before The Rain.” Moving to Los Angeles in 1987, Terry has kept up his professional musical and performing career. He has toured with Freddy Fender, been the guitarist for the Élan Awards and was a principle member of the Southern California Blues Group “Raging Sun.” Currently Terry fills his time performing with his jazz group, an acoustic blues duo a casual band called Playback Music and giving private guitar lessons at Baxter-Northup Music in Sherman Oaks California.
