Dave Ness

David Ness, B.M. Northern Illinois University; M.M. Northwestern University, is a freelance musician in the Chicago area. Currently, Dave teaches at the College of Lake County. He previously was the director of jazz studies at Carthage College. In the past, he has taught jazz courses at Northwestern University and was the guitar instructor at Judson College. Dave is a sought-after clinician, having taught and presented clinics at many schools in the Illinois and Wisconsin area. The fourth act was also a treat, the Dave Ness Trio. This acoustic jazz group features guitar, bass, and drums/percussion. They play music that is full of interesting nuances and subtle details, reveling in quiet textures and silences.
