Amy Horvey

Recent engagements included Vancouver International Jazz Festival, Open Space Victoria New Music Series, Arraymusic, Nouvel Ensemble Moderne, National Arts Centre/NAC Orchestra, Montreal Symphony Orchestra, Nederlands Blazers Ensemble, and Kraakgeluiden Amsterdam.

In 2006 toured Canada with sponsorship from the Saskatchewan Arts Board, presenting a brave new solo show, and was invited by Dave Douglas to be a featured soloist at the Festival of New Trumpet Music in New York City. Created original musical scores for several dance projects with Lithuanian choreographer Agnija Sarulienne. 2007 projects included Lucerne Festival Academy with Pierre Boulez and Chosen Vale International Trumpet Seminar. Solo tour of Italy, 2008.

Active composer, recently collaborating/performing at the Plartforma Festival (Klaipeda, Lithuania) with choreographer Agnija Seiko.

Holder of the National Arts Centre's 2008-2009 Richard Li Young Artist Chair; currently studying trumpet in McGill University's Doctoral program with Ed Carroll.

Solo CD "Interview" released on Montreal-based label Malasartes.
