Mitchell Schrift has been performing jazz professionally since 1982 in the Bay Area and Portland, Oregon. He has studied for over 10 years with the great pianist Dick Hindman. Mitch has also studied African and Latin percussion, which led him to work as a keyboardist in bands with Congolese artist Samba Ngo and the Nigerian band Kosono, as well as numerous Latin and Caribbean bands.

Mitch has a very active teaching schedule. Students range in ages and levels.
He specializes in teaching children, ensuring a fun, positive start to their piano
and music education. Many older kids and adults seek lessons with him to
pursue an education in jazz and jazz piano. Lessons are given in a studio at his
home in Albany, California.
