Dave Scoven was born in Richmond, VA. He has been playing since age 12.

Dave is an avant garde composer/producer/percussionist. Dave currently plays with guitarist Gary Titi in the jazz duo, Tele-Phonic.

Dave is also the founder of the Richmond Free Jazz Collective.
