Michael George Gonzalez delivers a fresh sound with a classic quality that pays homage to the legacy of American music. His sultry voice and prolific guitar playing engage the ear with creative phrasing and thoughtful dynamics.

Michael was born and raised in New York. The rich history and diverse cultural influences fostered his exploration of musical creativity. From an early age Michael was active in the arts; playing trumpet, singing in choir, and performing musical theater.

At 20, he picked up with guitar and began writing songs. He studied music composition and jazz studies at North Seattle CC under Carol Sams and jazz studies with Fred Radke (Harry James Orchestra). He attended the PNW Film Score Institute in Seattle to study with film and television composer Hummie Mann (2 Emmy Awards). In addition he spent two years in private study with legendary bassist and composer Chuck Israels (Bill Evans Trio). Currently Michael is mentored by master guitarist, drummer, and composer Milo Petersen.

For the past 15 years he has worked as a professional throughout North America. Now based in the Pacific NW where he performs, composes, and teaches privately. He is devoted to his community serving as President of the Bellingham Independent Music Association 501(c)(3), volunteering to perform at regional farmer's markets, and school/youth outreach programs.

Michael George Gonzalez has been performing since the age of 9. Now for the past 15 years he has worked as a professional musician performing, recording, and teaching throughout North America. He studied music composition and jazz studies at North Seattle CC under Fred Radke (Harry James Orchestra). He also attended the PNW Film Score Institute to study with 2-time Emmy winner, Hummie Mann. In addition he spent two years in private study with legendary bassist and composer Chuck Israels (Bill Evans Trio). Currently Michael is mentored by master guitarist, drummer, and composer Milo Petersen.
