Felix Higginbottom

Born into an extremely musical family, Felix began his life as a chorister and cellist – an upbringing he accredits 90% of his musicianship to. However, a teenage rebellion soon shifted his gaze to pots and pans, and after receiving a BBC Young Musician’s grant he moved to London to continue his studies. Since the age of eight Felix began touring internationally, a lifestyle that has taken him as far as Japan and back (twice). One of the latest in a generation of musicians making a splash in London, Felix hails straight from the ranks of the UK’s most prestigious jazz establishment – the National Youth Jazz Orchestra. His fascination with different sounds and colours often results in the use of lesser- known instruments as well as those he has made himself. Both in the classical and popular music world Felix has made a significant impression, whether that be at the BBC Proms, playing for touring artists from the USA, or at a yearly residency at Ronnie Scott’s.
