After studying political science, with next to that taking private singing lessons in jazz and indian music, Luna Zegers (1974) was accepted into the Conservatory of Amsterdam. There she nowadays studies jazz singing, with secundary subjects flamenco and indian music (2001-2003 & 2006-present). Taking a long study break, Luna went for three months to Bangalore (India) to study indian (carnatic) singing, and after that went to live a period in Sevilla (Spain) to study flamenco singing. After returning to Amsterdam to finish her conservatory studies, she did an Erasmus exchange to Barcelona in 2007- 2008, where she studied both jazz and flamenco singing. In 2009 dutch flamenco guitarist Eric Vaarzon Morel invited her to join him in the Master Talent Series in which an experienced master invites a young talent to play with him. Since then Luna shares the stage with Eric Vaarzon more often, and she played among others with violinist Oene van Geel and tabla player Niti Ranjan Biswas. At this moment Luna is in the last year of her studies in Amsterdam (graduating in June 2010). Together with pianist Maartje Meijer she started Radio Luna, to bring together the wonderful worlds of flamenco and jazz music.
