His first aproach to music was trough a classical enviroment obtaining the Classical Saxophon Degree in Pamplona, Spain. After That he moved to Boston and attended to Berklee College of Music in Boston where he studied “Jazz Performance” major with Magna Cum Laude qualification.Nowadays he is playing with Mystic Flugelhorn Band, Santi Careta Group, Miguel Fernández Quintet and has played with international artists like: Paquito de Rivera Panámérican Big Band, Greg Hopkins Big Band, Joe Lovano 22th Century Group, Oscar Stagnaro, James Genus, Eli Degibri, André Matos Quintet, Juan Cruz Urquiza, Leo Genovese, Ted Lo, Demián Cabaud... Miguel is a Fresh Sound recording artist and we can find among his last cd's: “El Perro”, “Obertura” and “Santi Careta Grup meets Julian Heinemann”. Other lables as PSM Records: “Symploke Quintet”. His new album titled “Transplanet Species” featuring Leo Genovese will be release at the end of 2009.
