- Brian Walsh is a graduate of the California Institute of the Arts(MFA,BFA) and the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts. He has studied clarinet with William Powell, Gary Bovyer, Debra Kanter, and Val Grayson. He has studied improvisation with Bobby Bradford, Vinny Golia, and Ben Goldberg.
- Brian performs with: The Walsh Set Trio, The Industrial Jazz Group, PLOTZ!, The Vinny Golia Large Ensemble, The Doug MacDonald Brass and Woodwind Coalition, and chamber music ensembles Inauthentica and the Kairos Ensemble.
- Past collaborations have included: Bobby Bradford, Vinny Golia, Nels Cline, Alex Cline, Harris Eisenstadt, Kris Tiner, Peter Epstein, Money Mark, Bright Eyes, Josh Ritter, Lorna Luft, The Kreative Orchestra of Los Angeles, Dan Clucas, Peter Maxwell Davies, Mark Applebaum, Mark Menzies, James Newton, Larry Koonse, Muhal Richard Abrams, BUTCH MORRIS,LEO Wadada Smith, John Oswald, Gavin Bryars, Ken Filiano, Lynn Johnston, Eugene Chadbourne, Ensemble Green, The New Century Players, The Argento Chamber Ensemble(Monday Evening Concerts), The Henry Mancini Institute Orchestra, The San Bernadino Symphony, The Santa Cecelia Orchestra, and the Riverside Philharmonic.
- Brian is also an active private instructor and clinician. He has taught clarinet and chamber music at the California Institute of the Arts. He teaches clarinet and saxophone at Baxter Northup music in Sherman Oaks, Southern California's oldest music store. He also teaches at the Oakwood School, and at their fantastic summer program: The Academy of Creative Education.
