Lee Matalon is a veteran subway rider, hailing from the lower east-side of Manhattan where he attended The High School of Performing Arts. This avid saxophonist is a big band and jazz band orchestra leader, teaches music at Antelope Valley College, and gives private lessons, among many other things. A former student of Matalon's says, “I really enjoy playing with Lee Matalon. He explains the concept of music very well.”
