Bob Davis
Bob Davis was born in Cosmos, Minnesota in 1927. By the age of 18, Davis was playing improvisational jazz with some of the greats. His styles were ahead of his time. Jazz greats such as Stan Kenton & Count Basie had looked at Davis as one of the greatest jazz pianists of the time. He recorded 3 great albums. Bob Davis played & recorded with such artists as Sarah Vaughn, Al Hirt, Dizzy Gillespie... He also was musical director for Playboy Clubs, taught as a music college & high school professor, and was a promoter and agent for music giants such as the Jacksons and Tina Turner. He then continued playing jazz and ballads in concerts and clubs into his older years. He lived most of his life in Miami, Florida. After retiring at the age of 69, he still played incomparable jazz feats like no other. Sadly, in his last days, he suffered from bone cancer, which robbed him of the joy of playing music, which he loved so dearly.
