Luka Udjbinac, born on 24.07.1978 in Zagreb, Croatia.

Finished primary classical Music school (classical guitar) Blagoje Bersa. Continues his music education (jazz guitar) on Music High School “Vatroslav Lisinski” on department for “Jazz and popular music” with prof. Mario Igrec.

1998. winner of Croatian award “Young hopes of jazz Marjan Marjanovic”.

1999. start studying jazz guitar and jazz IGP - Kärtner Landes Konservatorium, Klagenfurt (Austria) with prof. Guido Jeszenszky, and 2004. with Thomas Wallisch.

1999. makes a jazz group “Luka Udjbinac Trio”. Trio has played more than 130 concerts, and hosted lot of Croatian and European jazz artists.

2000. makes a project of Croatian Traditional Christmas Songs where he re-arranged and reharmonised them for instrumental jazz performance as an idea of promotion and presentation of a Croatian culture in the world.

2001. member of Big Band HGM Jazz Orchestra ( Zagreb ) conductor Siggi Feigl. Winner of the award for the Best orchestra in Croatia for 2003. Concerts with : Bobby Shew, John Thomas, Barbara Dennerlein, Bob Mintzer

2002/2003. recorded CD of originals „Now & beyond“ feat. Lee Harper (USA), Michael Erian Tom Kofler, Klemens Marktl etc... CD released on April, 2004. under croatian label “Dancing Bear” (Warner Bros), and by all reviews is great CD.

2004. Courtesy appears on Dancing Bear Label (Warner Bross).

2004. Graduated with Diploma Jazz Guitar and Jazz IGP at Kärtner Landes Konservatorium, Klagenfurt, prof.Thomas Wallisch.

CD “Now & beyond” was nominated for Croatian biggest music award “Porin” in 2 categories (best jazz album, best jazz composition).

Luka Udjbinac was nominated for best player of the year for the award “Zlatna Koogla” (Golden Ball).

2005. made new Luka Udjbinac Band and recorded his second CD “Goin’ my way…” (released for Capo Media Music), for which is also recorded Video.

2006. won award “Zlatna Koogla” for best instrumental player in Croatia.

2006. won award “Status” for best jazz guitar player in Croatia.

Won awards for music, lyrics and arrangement for some of his compositions.
