Zane Maertens grew up in south East Spain and began his musical journey on the faithful 'ol banjo at the age of 13. After moving to England in 1991, He was given his first guitar by his father and began studying classical guitar & Gypsy Jazz styles. After attending the Guild Hall School of music and Drama In London on Classical Guitar, the natural progression was to move onto Bass. from then on, there's no looking back. After Playing the London Pub/Club circuit for a few years in Various bands, the need for travel was burning away. Taking the obvious and easiest way to gain experience and travel the world is Touring the world on Luxury Cruise Liners. 3 years of traveling gave zane the experience and repertoire in any style of music, specializing in Jazz, Rock/Pop, Funk, Latin, Classical and having the opportunity of playing with such people as Pearl Kaufman(movie pianist on Dr Zhivago) , Nestor Torres( Latin Flute Virtuoso), Elliot & Ian Finkle (Piano & Marimba), and many other American Artists/Entertainers(And many more “has-beens”!).

After Moving Back to the UK in 2004 zane has been involved with many different artists from a wide range of musical genres and styles.He is currently working with up and coming Jazz/soul artist “Ella Jones” and Irish Singer/songwriter “Chris Singleton”, As well as playing with The Dave Foster Trio/ Quartet, The Digisoul Band, Soulpersona, Flashback, The Quick Fix, “Masters of The House”(National Touring show featuring former stars from Les Miserables). Zane also teaches Guitar & Bass in Harlow, Essex.
