Steve Pardo

STEVE PARDO is a saxophonist/multi-instrumentalist, composer, and arranger.  He currently resides in Boston, MA with his wife, Amy, and is employed at the video game studio Harmonix Music Systems.

Steve's original music exists within a few groups, including the Steve and Lindley Band, his indie jazzy rock band with his sister in law Lindley Cameron.  They released the EP “Fairyale Thankyou” in May 2008, an enormous 27 minute orchestral production, and are now working on a more relaxed and true blue full-length LP for release in late 2009.  Steve also plays in the folk trio Hello Ghost and in the jazz-rock group Honeymoon to Earth.

During his tenure at the University of Miami (receiving both his Bachelor's in “Studio Music and Jazz” and Master's in “Studio Jazz Writing”), Steve collaborated with jazz and folk/rock groups (including Amy Pardo Quartet, Tazer Room, Landon Knoblock, Stefanie Smith Band, Raffa and Rainer Band, the South Nine Ensemble, Jesse Jackson, Peter J. Yanowitch, and others) and has been featured on a number of independently released albums.

In the past, Steve has been commissioned to write and arrange for jazz combos, large jazz ensembles, chamber groups, string quartets, and big bands.  He worked with Miami-based composer/attorney Peter J. Yanowitch on composing and arranging for three full length CD's.

Steve has had the pleasure to perform or record with Jim Black, Ron Horton, John Hollenbeck, Arturo Sandoval, Roy Hargrove, Slide Hampton, Mark Colby, John Fedchock, Ed Calle, Marcus Roberts, Jason Marsalis, Sam Barsh, Jim Gasior, Wendy Pedersen, and Alex Norris.  He has studied saxophone with Gary Keller, Mark Colby, Kari “Sonny” Heinela, and composition with Ron Miller, Gary Lindsay, and Lansing McLoskey.
