Alex Milella

Guitarist, arranger and musical programmer, he begins at the age of 6 studying piano; at 13 years old he switches to guitar, in a private school; he continues, afterwards, as self- taught, with various live experiences in the pubs of his town. Around the age of 18, he improves his musical knowledge studying harmony, jazz and contemporary, in the advance courses at Siena Jazz.

In July '95 he achieves the technical Certificate of musical composition, arrangement and programming at the Dipartimento Nuove Tecnologie of the Scuola di Alto Perfezionamento Musicale in Saluzzo (Italy).

Currently he is involved in his first published project, "Light Shades", as leader. He is assisted by a group of nationally-renown musicians: Giuseppe Berlen drums, Pierluigi Balducci electric bass, Davide Santorsola piano, Luca Cacucciolo keyboards and piano, and Michele Carrabba sax.

He runs seminars and he is a teacher of guitar, contemporary and jazz harmony, dialectics of contemporary improvisation, history of Rock, and electronic music at the school "Il Pentagramma " in Bari (Italy).

One often has to wonder at an artist's musical choices, where they might have gone had they taken a different path.
