Among the pleasures I already miss since moving last October to North Carolina after 20 years in Illinois are the annual Jazz festivals at New Trier High School, which was less than a 20–minute drive up the road from our home in Wilmette. You can rest assured that Jazz education is moving forward when high school ensembles start issuing two–disc sets to verify their development.
