Peter Douskalis is a New York based guitarist. Having grown up in the Washington DC Metropolitan area, Peter grew to love all styles of music and has explored vastly many aspects of the guitar. With a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies from the Conservatory of Shenandoah University and a Master of Arts in Music Education from the New York University, Peter is a well versed musician and educator.
His first release “Midnight Madrid” is with the Peter and Alex Guitar Duo. This independent release explorers areas of flamenco, Greek, classical, jazz, and pop styles of music and the guitar.
His second release “The Dance of the Sea” on Shenandoah Records is a solo jazz guitar compilation of arrangements and original tunes. The CD has received national and international acclaim by: Just Jazz Guitar Magazine, Jazz Journal (UK), Los Angeles Jazz Scene, Cadence Magazine, JazzChicago.net, JazzCDReviews.com, and more.
