Olivier Calmel is a composer, orchestrator and pianist whose works have been performed by numerous soloists and orchestras. He is the winner of several competitions and awards: the Grand prix Sacem de la musique symphonique for young composers, Grand Prix International Académie Charles Cros, Composition Prize at the Concours National de Jazz de la Défense, Premier Prix Festival Jazz in Vannes. Most of his works have been
commissioned and performed by soloists, ensembles and orchestras (Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio
France, Orchestre national d'Île-de-France, Opéra de Massy, Festival de Beauvais, Violons de France, Orchestre National de Bretagne, Maîtrise de Radio France, Ensemble Nouvelles Portées, Choeur Vittoria d'Île-de-France, Ensemble Links, Paris Brassband, and many others).

His works have been performed at the Théâtre du Châtelet, Salle Pleyel, Philharmonie de Paris, Auditorium de Radio France, 1 04, Cité de la Musique, Théâtre de la Ville, Grand T in Nantes, Opéra de Rennes, Théâtre du Beauvaisis, Maladrerie, Kursaal de Dunkerque, MégaCité in Amiens, as well as in the United States (New York Symphony Space, Ohio, Kentucky, Pittsburg Heinz Hall), in Europe (London, Lisbon, Geneva, Lausanne, Annemasse, Innsbruck, Zagreb National Theatre, Dnipro Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre), and also in Asia (Beijing, Pingtung, Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya... ).

Olivier Calmel is published by Artchipel, Klarthe, La Fabrik'à Notes, Delatour and Robert Martin, and distributed by Green United Music, Cezame Music Agency and Universal Publishing.
A professor of orchestration at the Paul Dukas Conservatory in Paris, he is regularly invited to give master
classes and conferences.
His catalogue of works includes numerous orchestral and chamber music works, vocal works, jazz, film scores and educational pieces. He divides his activities between commissions for soloists, contemporary ensembles and orchestras, composing and orchestrating music for films and jazz. Olivier Calmel is a Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.

French pianist/composer Olivier Calmel enjoys a prosperous career scoring music for film. In between movie projects, however, the Paris-based musician finds time to lead and compose for creative jazz projects.
