Javier took lessons with Juan José Calatayud, Michel Block, Istvan Nadas, Roberto Ru-z Guadalajara y Enrique Nery at México. Outside Mexico he took lessons with con John Taylor, Bill Carothers, Uri Cain y Jean Michel Pilc.He also assisted to School for Improvisational Music (SIM), at Brooklin (NY) with musicians such as Ralph Alessi, Ravi Coltrane, Steve Coleman, Vijay Iyer and Andy Milne. He has played with Matt Davis and his Aereal Photograph project, and with Michael Caldwell who is the Jazz Deaprtment Head Professor as California University at Fresno. He has played in Mexico with Giovanni Figueroa, Israel Cupich, Hernán Hetch, Aarón Cruz, Juan Alzate, Alejandro Campos y Arturo Cipriano. He formed part of Ethos Trio which together with Jose Gurr-a and Arturo Luna he has played in venues such as the Washington D.C. Kennedy Center and in cities such as Sao Paulo, Berlin, La Habana (Jazz Plaza Fest.), Lima (Jazz Int. Fest.), Chicago and Beijing. He is part of Papabetos Big Band, where he has made ritmic section with Kiyoshi Kitagawa.
