Born: July 24, 1986 Primary Instrument: Vocalist
A “silly jazz” singer and pianist originally from Boulder, CO, her musical Muffin Man was in the New York International Fringe Festival 2009 and was one of twenty shows chosen for the FringeNYC Encore Series. Her one-woman show of original songs Camille! Young! Silly! has played the Duplex Cabaret multiple times and was part of Ars Nova Theatre’s ANT FEST 2008. A graduate from Emerson College in Boston, she is the recipient of an Emerson EVVY award for her song “Muffin Man.” Camille has been a cast member of The Moon a variety show based in Brooklyn since Feburary 2009. She plays piano around the city and is a clown for birthday parties...
2008 EVVY Award- Best Vocal Performance for original song "Muffin Man"
Singer/songwriter Camille hails from Boulder but studies in Boston, and
devotes her music to the art of silly. Her focus is fun but her vocals carry the
gravitas of dust-bowl beaten jazz singers from 1937. Her tracks Muffin Man
and Chopsticks Duet are particularly ridiculous, while Among the Trees and
Lullaby reveal a quieter, soulful range to her work.
James Roland - Fenceposts
Camille Harris [...] is clever with a lyric (Do you know the muffin man?
/Cause my life's a dreary lane) and is a tuneful composer to boot.
Furay - Curtain Up
Regarding Camille's musical Muffin Man: It’s not often these days that
audiences are treated to a classic romantic musical. Muffin Man delivers a
charming one and does so in a modern way. [...] All in all, Muffin Man is a
delightful show that will leave a smile on your face.
