Jean Carla Rodea

Jean Carla Rodea is a Brooklyn based vocalist, born and raised in Mexico, she is a product of the rich cultural diversity of both cities. In 2005 she moved to New York to be part of the free-improvised music scene. She performs with ensembles including Gerald Cleaver’s quintet, NiMbNl, Banda Sinaloa de los Muertos, Deathbringers, among many others. In addition to this, she leads her own projects (AZARES, trio=tres nube). Passionate about lyrics she writes her own in different languages as well as adaptations of Japanese, Mexican, and Latin American poetry. Last but not least, Jean Carla loves to draw and paint.
