Defekt was formed in Gothenburg in 2008 and includes four personal and unique musicians from Finland, Iceland and Norway. The members have played together for a long time before Defekt in bands like Laser, Kauhukakara, Heart of the Machine and Mia Mee. Their own composed music is a delicate mixture of jazz, surf, pop and rock, where the saxophone and guitar sounds are expanded with the use of effects. The melodies are often simple and singable although underneath are often complicated dense rhythms and counter melodies, making the music both simple and complex at the same time.

In February 2009, during the bands tour in the Nordic countries, they went into a studio in Finland. The recordings were then mixed in September and the debut album, Pete�'s game machine, will be released 1st of September 2010 followed by a tour in the Nordic countries.
