Steve Habib

Steve has been playing drums of all types for almost 50 years. A former student of Marvin "BU-GA-LU- Smith's,Elvin Jones, Art Blakey,Emeka Iganou (Nigeria) he has performed with Joshua Breakstone, Bernard "Pretty" Purdie, Hugh Brodie, George Braith, Nat Dixon, Melting Pot Drum Group an all drummer group as a co-creator, Roy Campbell, Christopher Dean Sullivan, Murali Coryell, Bobby Santiago, Fred Jacobs Jacobs Ladder, Escalera at Shadowland in Ellenville, Narrowsburg Theater, Luna Performing Arts,Montclair, NJ, Howland Center, Beacon, Town Hall, Visiones, Sweet Basil's, Half Note, Village Vanguard, Focus Two, American Cathedral, Paris, France. The Melting Pot Drum Project, an11 piece afro-sephardic jazz ensemble that travels Internationally giving concerts at Universities. He is currently in the process of finishing work with his friends Marvin BU- GA-LU-Smith and Tom Tedesco recorded since 2000 called Melting Pot, a drum group that has performed in Montclair New Jersey at "Luna Performance Space". Melting Pot remains a work in progress for all involved and is Steve's musical passion as it was started with one of his best friends Marvin BU-GA-LU-Smith. Both drummers are highly emotional players. Marvin has over 1200 music videos recorded and documented (Bumar Records). The new CD Majestic has been released on CD Baby this year, January 2013.
