Born: September 13, 1992 Primary Instrument: Sax, alto
Jarrett was born in Philadelphia in 1992. He started playing saxophone when he was nine and started playing professionally at 16. He has since toured the east coast and played at festivals including the Undead Jazz Festival and West oak Lane Jazz Festival. By the time Jarrett finished high school he had appeared on two records (both featuring original music of his) and performed weekly in Philadelphia.
Now studying at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore with Gary Thomas, Jarrett performs regularly with a few groups: Out of Your head Collective, Talkshow, Jazz Lunch, and Ben Frock's Love Unit. Catch him every Sunday at the Bolton Deli in Baltimore with Jazz Lunch.

Jarrett Gilgore needs update his MySpace status. As I write this, it says that
he’s “finding a sound,” but just one listen to his experimental jazz pieces
suggests that he’s already found it. The multi- instrumentalist tends to focus
on the saxophone, but his proficiency with other instruments gives him a
well-rounded ear for arrangements. As for that sound, it ranges from
rollicking bop to manic freeform, and shifts character from measure to
measure.
