Born in Lancaster, Lancashire, Pat started receiving formal drum lessons at age 7 (later studying piano and percussion). After having two enthusiastic local teachers, performing with many youth ensembles and semi-pro gigs and reaching the Drummers' Alliance National Finals, he won a scholarship to study with acclaimed teacher Dave Hassell. 2 years later he turned pro, performing and teaching whilst based in Manchester. Pat moved to London in late 2003 and continues to be a very active freelance player both live and in the studio.
With an emphasis on groove and musicality, Pat is a very versatile musician who is comfortable in many idioms. He has had the pleasure of playing tours all over the world including Brazil, Japan, Hong Kong, Argentina, U.S.A, the Middle East and most of Europe! Festivals and venues he has played include Glastonbury (West Holts stage), North Sea Jazz Festival, Bestival, The Big Chill, Creamfields, Madstock, 02 Arena (London), Le Zenith (Paris), Ronnie Scott's, The Barbican, The Scala.

Pat has also recorded many commercial studio sessions including adverts for Sony (Fallon Agency), and multiple library music sessions for Audio Network Ltd.
Recent TV appearances have included “LATER...With Jools Holland” with Jerry Dammers, “The Culture Show” with Robyn Hitchcock & Danny Thompson, Parla Con Me (RAI 3) plus many radio broadcasts including BBC Radio 2, Radio 3 and 6 Music. Pat also played live drums on the acclaimed CBeebies series “Rastamouse.”
Pat has also taught at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (Paul McCartney school), British Academy of New Music (Access to Music), Wigan & Leigh College, Nelson & Colne College and been involved in many workshops/masterclasses in schools and universities.
