Born: February 9, 1954 Primary Instrument: Guitar
Playing guitar since age 10, Chuck started playing the pop, rock and soul tunes of the 60's. Being especially attracted to the songwriting of the Beatles as well as the playing of the top rock guitarists of the day, he began a lifelong journey into the instrument and music in general. His Mother was a jazz fan who had exposed him to the likes of Ellington, Count Basis, George Shearing, Nat Cole, Stan Getz, Dinah Washington and Jimmy McGriff, making his transition from rock to jazz a very organic one. Hearing George Benson's one-chord tour de force Body Talk forever changed the way he looked at the instrument. Studies with Pat Martino, Steve Giordano, and the legendary Dennis Sandole soon followed as he continued to work in his own trio playing covers at nearby Atlantic City casinos. After a brief residence in Sedona, Arizona, Chuck returned to the East Coast and got out of the music business, preferring instead to separate art and income. Being in sales has allowed Chuck to focus on his art for the past 15 years.
