Bryson Barnes

Trumpeter, composer, songwriter, and educator Bryson Barnes has earned jazz degrees from the University of Miami and McGill. He has appeared with a diverse cast of musicians, from Montreal jazz legend Vic Vogel to hip-hop stalwart Slick Rick. He currently leads his own jazz quintet, recently featured at the Burlington Discover Jazz Festival. His debut album “Inner Circle” showcases a deft lyricism as well a sensitive and engaging compositional style. In addition, Bryson leads the indie pop group Bryson Barnes and the New Method. Look out for their debut EP, “Never on Earth,” due out this summer. Other projects include Burlington- based instrumental soul powerhouse Strength in Numbers and New York City indie folk rockers Sam Friend and the Freckles, who you can catch monthly at Zir Zamin in the West Village. Bryson is currently based in New York City.
