With his own quartet / quintet he toured for over 18 years at home and abroad, including performances in France, Spain, Italy, England, Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, China, USA. His international career took him in concerts and recordings with othersfollowing musicians: Albert Mangelsdorf, John Marshall, Red Mitchel, John Goldsby, Jeff Hamilton, Jerry Granelli, Beirach Richie, Billy Hart, Frank Grasso, Tony Scott, Richard Galliano, Bart v. Lier, Jan Oosthoff, Thomas Stabenow, Joe Haider, Lee Konitz,Ack van Rooien, Georg Rox, Scott Neumann, Frank Wunsch, Phillip Wilson, Horace Parlan, Sigi Busch, Martin Wind, Douglas Sides, Florian Poser, Michael Arlt, German Marstatt, Detlev Beier, Bernhard Mergner, Lis Harting, Deborah Brown, Dee Daniels, Marjorie Barnes, Dick de Graaf, Klaus Ignatzek, Gustavo mountain Alli, Buggy Braune, Sebastian Old Kamp, Dirik Schilgen, Stephan v. Martin Classen is a regular guest at the Midland Big Band (NL), the Timeless Orchestra. As a soloist, he was with John Clayton Big Band, the Metropole Orchestra and The Dutch Jazz Orchestra operates. Martin Classen has worked since 1983 with international jazz musicians. He studied inter alia Prof. Michaels, Detmold, clarinet, with Ferdinand Povel Hiversum (NL) saxophone and flute, Arranging and Composing for Kenny Napper and Jerry van Rooien. From 1990 through 1998, Martin Classen the saxophone class (jazz) at the Musikhochschule in Hannover. Since Oct. 2000 he is head of jazz education the College of Arts in Bremen. He also oversees the State Youth Big Band of Lower Saxony and he works for the LAG music Niedersachsen Young Musicians in and of youth development. In 2002 he installed the first certified training for school jazz musicians at the Gerhard Mercator University of Duisburg.
