Chase Foster has been called a prodigy. This is the only way to really describe this young man and his wealth of musical talent. When asked how it all began, he will tell you that it came from his upbringing- his grandpa, his family, and other legendary influences. This 19-year-old singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Spending his early years in Pawhuska and Ponca City, Oklahoma, its easy to see that he has southern roots.
It was at the age of 9 when Chase decided he would join the school orchestra. He had always had his eye on the violin. His grandpa, who is an accomplished musician, thought this would be the perfect opportunity to expose Chase to some of his favorite music: Western Swing. Chase began to listen and learn about Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys, Johnny Gimble, Cindy Walker, Asleep at the Wheel, and many other swing legends. It was then that his violin became a fiddle. His grandpa had only one request: learn Faded Love. No problem--just a matter of hours!
Chase has since encountered so many who have left their impression on his music and heart. Some encounters have been by chance and some inevitably by fate, as there is no doubt that this was what was intended for this young man's life. Who knew that an autograph from the legendary Charlie Daniels would spark a boy's desire to perform in front of audiences throughout Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, and Kansas.
Throughout his school years, he added Jazz, Bluegrass, Pop, Rock, and Blues genres to his musical repertoire. He continued to perform and many doors were opened. He has had the honor of performing for and with artists such as Charlie Daniels, Former Bob Wills Texas Playboys, Tommy Emmanuel, Martina McBride, Hank Thompson, Big and Rich, Riders in the Sky, and many others.
The doors continue to open and his journey is just beginning!
