Kenji Yoshitake

Kenji Yoshitake was born in Japan in 1985. He started electric bass when he was 12 years old. After high school graduation, he entered Senzoku Gakuen College of Music in Yokohama. And he studied acoustic bass, jazz theory, ear training, jazz arranging and ensemble. When Aaron Goldberg, Eric Harland, Reuben Rogers, Jonathan Kreisberg, Matt Penman, Mark Ferber and Tiger Okoshi visited the school for clinic, he was offered to participate in a representative band to play on stage with them as a demonstrator.

In 2007, after receiving scholarship, he moved to Boston to go to Berklee College of Music. At Berklee, he studied with musicians such as John Lockwood, Greg Osby, Dave Santro, Victor Mendoza, Dave Samuels, Oscar Stagnaro, Marcello Pellitteri and Whit Brown.

After Berklee College of Music graduation, he moved to New York and He has playing around New York area. He performed with musicians such as Grant Stewart, Rick Germanson, Joe Breidenstine, Pete Zimmer, Vince Cherico, Steve Einerson, Mike Camoia, Tony Middelton, Jesse Elder, Kyoko Oyobe, Tadataka Unno, Ken Fowser, Behn Gillece, Bruce Saunders, Miki Hirose, Marcello Pellitteri, Terumasa Hino, Tomonao Hara, Masahiko Osaka, Kazuhiko Michishita.
