Daniel is a 21 year old accomplished saxophonist originally from Boulder, Colorado who currently resides in Los Angeles, California. His playing credits include: Frank Wess, Vince Mendoza, Bob Mintzer, Yosvany Terry, Ambrose Akinmusire, John Gunther, Taylor Eigsti, Clare Church, John Gunther, The Air Force Falconaires, the Thornton Jazz Orchestra, the Colorado All-State Jazz Band, The Metropolitan Jazz Band All-Stars, and the Colorado Mile High All-Stars Jazz Band.
His awards include the Stan Getz Outstanding Musician Award from the Stanford Jazz Festival, a merit award from the NFAA Young Arts national arts competition, as well as numerous awards from jazz festivals around the state of Colorado. Daniel is currently a member of the progressive jazz trio The Vintage Modernists, plays and writes for Los Angeles hip-hop band The Cleanse, is a member of the highly acclaimed A-Capella group The Trojan Men, and recently released an album with the Denver based jazz group The Dominant Seven.
Daniel currently studies with Bob Mintzer, Bob Sheppard, John Daversa, and Jason Goldman, and plays tenor saxophone in the prestigious Thornton Jazz Orchestra under the direction of Bob Mintzer at the University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music.
Daniel is also a highly regarded music educator in both the Los Angeles and Colorado communities. He currently directs the middle school jazz band at the Foshay Learning Center in South Central Los Angeles, teaches privately, and has been a teacher at the C's in the Summer Jazz Camp in Boulder, Colorado for the past four years.
