Martin Sather

Martin Sather is an up and coming artist on the New York jazz scene. After receiving his B.M. Jazz Performance from Western Connecticut State University he is now pursuing a Masters in Jazz Studies at SUNY Purchase. Martin brings a unique sound and approach to the tenor saxophone as well as his own charismatic method to playing and composition. In 2007, he was awarded Outstanding Soloist from DOWNBEAT MAGAZINE'S Student Music Awards. Martin has studied with Dr. Dan Goble, Andrew Beals, Eric Alexander, Hal Galper, Todd Coolman, and John Abercrombie.
