Ken Pendergast

Ken Pendergast is a Philadelphia based professional bass player and producer. Performing nationally and internationally, Pendergast is heard at upwards of 200 live shows a year appearing in venues as large as the Kennedy Center and as quaint as Chris’ Jazz Cafe. Recently he has been touring the western world as bassist, 8 string guitarist and music director for Verve/Universal London recording artist Melody Gardot. He has performed and recorded with Melody Gardot, Wiz Khalifa, Mike Taylor(Tu Phace), Musiqology, Macy Gray, Shontelle, Ralph Bowen, Aaron Parks, Rachael Yamagata, and among many others. As a session musician, Pendergast is regularly in the studio recording primarily Jazz, R&B, Rock, Country, Folk and Hip-Hop, though is often called to venture into genres as varied as Haitian Rock and Indian Pop. He holds a M.M. from University of the Arts and currently teaches at the University of Pennsylvania and Camden County College.
