Multi talented artist Hans Poppel is originally from Munich, Germany. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and became an assistant set designer at the Bavarian State Opera. Hans has worked as a set designer and award winning book- illustrator. As a pianist of jazz and improvised music, he has developed his own extended piano techniques. He has performed and recorded in Europe and the United States. Hans currently lives and works in Munich. Musical collaborations include performances with Amiri Baraka, Joe Morris, Ken Vandermark, Hans Koch, Peter Schärli, Curt Newton, Soo-Jung Kae, Sebi Tramontana, and others.
