Born: December 30 Primary Instrument: Drums
The Nazir Ebo Group (11-19 yrs old), has a tough act to follow with his older brother, 20-year-old drummer Justin Faulkner, who plays for Branford Marsalis. Nazir spent his childhood surrounded by music, and the 11 year old, now stands at the forefront of modern jazz.
Clearly talented, he attended the Philadelphia Clef Club as a way to practice the drums and learn to be comfortable in front of others. Since then he has performed at Chris's Jazz Café, the West Oak Lane Jazz Festival, Cape May Jazz Festivals, The Firehouse Café, and several others. Nazir plans to entertain audiences at many more locations in the months and years to come.

“One in a long line continuing a Philly tradition of excellence. The inter-generational sharing in our Jazz community is unrivaled in the world and always has been. The resulting legends that hail from our city speak for themselves. Now if only we had more venues for these young lions to hone their skills and for the old lions to mentor them. Were it not for La Rose, the Clef Club and new efforts like Little Bar, the loss of icons like Ortlieb's would be a crushing blow.
