Japanese born and raised, vocalist Mihoko Uemura,classically trained in her youth, taught herself to improvise early on. Mihoko’s debut album with The Junior Mance Trio & Houston Person, “Just Squeeze Me”, was released on JVC in 1992. She relocated to New York City in 2001 to broaden and expand her musical horizons.
Mihoko’s latest CD The Wat We Were, was produced by Houston Person, was released on Goodness Records in 2011.
