Eran vertzbeger picked up the guitar at the age of 12. Although he has never received institutional training he has studied the instrument thoroughly. Besides jazz guitar Eran studied piano, composition and of course classical guitar. Among the teachers that shaped Eran's musical path are Oren Frank and Arik Shapira (in his home town of Haifa), and he also had the privilage of studying with guitar legend Peter Bernstein (NY).
During the last few years Eran has been performing with the BISHBASH sextet, playing his three horn arrangements and compositions, with UMAMI QUARTET, a contemporary Jazz group, and also in a trio format in which he finds the freedom and opportunity to develop his unique guitar playing style.
Last year UMAMI QUARTET recorded its début album A FIRST TASTE OF UMAMI QUARTET, featuring Noam Elron, Noam Israeli and Arnan Raz. The album consists of compositions by Eran and Elron arranged by the group .
